VERY IMPORTANT SCHEDULE CHANGE

Mercy High School's field is not playable. The good news is that Tuesday's game (tomorrow) has been re-scheduled at Milford!

JV will play at 5:30 PM and Varsity at 7:00 PM.

Now for the other news.... we need help in concessions! Please let me know if you are available to work either of the 2 slots. We need 2 people to work the JV game and 2 for the V game.

Reminder: shorts and socks will be distributed today at 5:30 at the field storage building.

URGENT - The Lady Mavs Need You!

Hi, everyone.
After our meeting on March 19, we still have many volunteer opportunities available! It's a great way to get to know the other parents and a lot of fun to get involved with the program (we will train you). Also, we only have 7 home games which means many of these jobs will only have to be done 7 times.

To meet our financial commitments and have a well-run program, we need parents to do the following:

Manage Concessions: 1-2 parents
Statistics/Sub Table: 2 parents for each JV game
Announcer: 1 parent to announce each JV game
Spotter/Clock: 1 parent needed for both Varsity and JV
In School Promotion: 1 parent

We also need concession stand workers for the following dates:
Fri, April 4: 1 person for the JV game
Sat, April 5: 1 person for the Varsity game
Mon, April 7 1 person for the JV game; 2 for the Varsity game
Fri, April 11: 1 person for both the JV and Varsity games
Wed, April 30: 2 people for the Varsity game
Fri, May 2: 2 people for the JV game and 1 for the Varsity game
Wed, May 7: 1 person for the JV game and 1 for the Varsity game (Senior Night)

Concession help: if working the JV game, plan to arrive around 20 minutes prior to game time to help set up. If working the Varsity game, plan to stay about 15 minutes after the game ends to help pack up the supplies.

I look forward to hearing from you; we truly need parental involvement to have a successful program. Feel free to email or call me to volunteer or if you have any questions.

Thank you for your help.

2008 Fundraising

LadyMav Players & Parents,

Head Coach Marty Neighbors needs our fundraising efforts to raise $3500 this year to cover our assistant coaches' fees and misc. equipment/supplies. While this is a similar target to prior years, we have a greater challenge this year. We depend on our concession stand sales to raise about a 1/3 of the funds, but our sales are projected to be significantly lower due to less home games (7 vs 10), and the bulk being in the slower cold months.

Rather than adding MORE fundraisers, our plan is for each and every player/parent to do their share with the few major ones that are planned. Your personal involvement and focus will make a huge difference for the team -- every little bit helps:

* Concession Stand -- Need a parent from each family to sign up for one home game
* Silpada Jewelry fundraiser -- Each player to get 2-3 average orders, $150 in total retail sales (or $40 in direct donations, e.g., personal bottle drive, etc.)
* Team car wash & Team bottle drive-- All players needed; dates TBD
The Silpada jewelry fundraiser is off and running!

Each player received their packet last week. This is the ONLY individual fundraiser planned for the team this year. KEEP IT SIMPLE!! Unlike other teams which depend on players getting 10-20 orders (selling coupon books, raffle tickets, cookies/candy), we try to keep this quick & easy by asking each player to only get a couple orders or direct donations -- 25% of the jewelry sales will go to the team, and players can earn nice prizes for their efforts. See the packet for details.

The Silpada fundraiser ends Wed. April 2. Contact Lila Yee Allward at 248-685-7713 or lyeesilver@aol.com if you have any questions. Good Luck!

Thank you in advance for your contribution to the team!!

Holt Tournament Info

Hi, everyone:

The coaches have selected the girls that will be playing this weekend.

Since we do not have a bus, we are responsible for our own transportation. Please let me know by Friday if you need a ride. Also, if you have room in your vehicle, let me know how many you can accommodate.

Our games are at Holt High School on fields 1 and 2. The games are at 10:00 AM, 1:00 and 3:00 PM. Plan to arrive at the fields no later than 9:00 AM.

Your physical form MUST be submitted or on file to play Saturday.

Uniforms will be distributed tomorrow (Friday) at 5:15 PM in the Field house.

A map and information sheet for the tournament are available [here].
