Recent Varsity results:

Royal Oak - No known history. Royal Oak is a good team playing in the Oakland Activities Conference where they are currently 2-5-2. So far, they have played five top ten ranked teams. They have defeated Farmington and Clarkston and lost to Farmington, undefeated North Farmington, undefeated Rochester, Avondale, Birmingham Seaholm and tied Detroit Country Day and Bishop Foley.

Lakeland - Milford won an earlier match this season with Goals by Pohlman, L. Allward and Zemaitis. Shrewsbury received the shutout.

Check out this [U11 photo] with 5 current Mavericks, 4 Eagles and players currently in Hartland, Holly and Holt. Coach Kevin Johnston obviously did this right.

Novi - A couple weeks ago, the Mavs stepped up and held the Wildcats to only 2 goals.

Games this week

The schedule remains challenging, but the Mavs have just completed the most intense part of their 2007 season with 8 games in 3 weeks. Mostly home games remain, and a couple big conference games are scheduled this week.

Wed. 5/9 Pinckney
Fri. 5/11 @ Howell

Last year's Varsity results:

Pinckney - The Mavs travelled to the far reaches of the conference on a very, very wet day and started out a bit flat. Pinckney scored 4 first period goals. The lone Maverick goal came when Kate Gilbert passed to Allie Zemaitis who lofted a 25 yard shot over the keeper's head. Milford tightened up the defense in the second half. As of 4/25 Pinckney was 1-5-0. Losses to Dexter, Brighton, Ann Arbor Huron, South Lyon.

Howell - In 2006, when the Mavs played Howell, it rained. The regularly scheduled meeting ended in a 1-1 draw, with the second half cancelled due to lightning. Megan McCall scored, assisted by Chelsea Shrewsbury and Erica Adams. In the KVC crossover game, the Mavs visited Howell and this game was cancelled due to more lightning. In 2007, Howell has lost to South Lyon, Hartland, Pinckney, Brighton, Holly and North Farmington.

Future events:

5/29/07 - 6/2/07 - Districts
6/11/07 - Soccer Banquet

Ranked #1 in the US in some polls.

And the Mavs have 2 starting defenders out with injury.
And only 2 subs.

Fastest mercy in State history?

Not tonight.

Silpada Fundraiser Update

LadyMav families,
Congratulations on a successful fundraiser -- so far the team raised over $1000 with the Silpada fundraiser! Due to the extension in collecting the orders, the jewelry pickup date will be next week in time for Mother's Day. The original, tentative date, was today. I'll let you know the specific pick-up day/time in another note.

There may be a couple straggling orders, so I can still take orders through the end of this week & count it toward the fundraiser. Please call or email me ASAP to let me know if you are planning to do this.
